Farah Sultan, LMSW, SEP, CCTP
Evoke Therapy Programs Coach
Farah comes to Evoke with an extensive background and advanced training working with individuals recovering from complex trauma, attachment wounds, and emotional neglect. Farah was born and raised in the United Kingdom, and she is passionate about experiential, process-oriented work which privileges the present moment experience.
Education and Prior Work Experience
Farah has worked in a variety of community mental health and residential settings supporting individuals, families, and adolescents both in crisis and in long-term therapy. She holds a Masters in Social Work from Western New Mexico University, and has completed advanced training in Somatic Experiencing (SE). She is currently an Assistant Trainer for therapists pursuing SE certification, and she has found a home within this community. Farah has also completed specialized training in Family Systems, Interpersonal Neurobiology, EMDR, Mentalization Based Treatment, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). More than completing trainings, Farah loves to learn from her mentors individually, to understand her own process and growth, which enables her to bring a warm-hearted and genuine approach to her work.
Strengths
Farah’s style is down-to-earth, compassionate, and humorous with an ability to stay with you in the grief that can come with being human. Farah strives to create a balance between sitting in mindful attention of what is and creating new neural pathways by practicing new ways of being. Her love of travel has taken her all over the world and left an authentic and deep respect for diverse human experience and culture.
Interests
Farah still has the wanderlust and when she is not working, she is usually planning trips near and far, even if it’s a day trip to a place she hasn’t seen before. She loves to cook, especially long labors of love with hard-to-find ingredients and share with her family and friends. She has a dedicated spiritual practice which helps her keep her feet on the ground.
