Alexandra 'Atty' is a psychotherapist, coach, and meditation teacher who is passionate about increasing the wellbeing and empowerment of individual’s internal and relational worlds. She works in private practice to provide emotional support to individuals, young adults, parents and kids. With extensive training in attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, and trauma, Alexandra aims to understand, rather than fix, helping clients explore the relationship to the authentic Self, personal meaning, and capacity to love.

Education & Prior Work Experience

Alexandra trained in Integral Counselling Psychology in San Francisco, at the California Institute of Integral Studies, a cutting-edge institution that offers an integrated outlook to psychological practice, bringing together the diverse approaches of clinical, somatic and spiritual psychology. She completed a Level 4 post-masters in working therapeutically with school aged children with Place2be, a non-profit in London. She was a psychotherapist in the East Bay, San Francisco. She is currently in private practice in Notting Hill, London working individually with all ages.

Strengths

She is trained in trauma, human development, alcohol and chemical dependency therapy, gestalt, psychosynthesis, family systems, adolescence, mindfulness cognitive behavioural therapy, EMDR, child therapy among others. Alexandra is always studying to discover “what works.” She is currently training in Internal Family Systems a trauma informed treatment for Anxiety, Depression, PTSD and substance abuse. She has completed a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training with world renowned clinical psychologists and meditation teachers Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. She teaches meditation and Qi Gong classes to adults. (These are ancient healing practices for self-regulation, clarity and calm in the midst of modern life.)

Interests

Alexandra’s area of special interest is healing insecure attachment in adulthood from within, the intersection between mindfulness meditation and psychotherapy, women’s spirituality, and adolescence. She utilises her diverse training to provide a safe, supportive space for self-exploration and healing. Her passions outside the therapy room include: travel, the California coastline, writing and world literature, the teachings of the Buddha and Lao Tzu, music: Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and the ancient Chinese energy work of Qi Gong.
