Jeremy has been dedicated to providing high-quality therapeutic services since 2001 and has worked with adolescents, young adults, and their families in a variety of therapeutic settings. He specializes in helping to foster both connection and healthy boundaries in family systems. Viewing healthy attachment as the cornerstone of both therapeutic progress and family stability, Jeremy seeks to help clients improve their self-concept, their level of motivation, and their relationships.

Education and Prior Work Experience

Jeremy holds a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and South Carolina. Jeremy has experience as a direct-care worker, a supervisor and trainer of direct-care staff, a therapist, clinical director, and executive director within therapeutic programs including wilderness therapy programs and therapeutic boarding schools. He has designed and led parent workshops and presented at regional conferences on family therapy and parent coaching. Jeremy has received advanced training in Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Strengths

With over 20 years of experience suporting adolescents and their families, Jeremy is closely acquainted with the patterns and dynamics that can develop in families when a child is facing difficulty. Jeremy has extensive experience working with preteens and teens who struggle with disruptive behaviors, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, shame, and attachment issues. Anxiety and trauma treatment are areas of specific focus for Jeremy. Other areas of specialty include family therapy, parent coaching, and men's mental health.

Interests

Jeremy enjoys archery, canoeing, and gardening. He hikes regularly in the wilderness areas near his home in South Carolina. Jeremy is a musician and songwriter. He enjoys playing guitar and harmonica and singing.
