Nick

Assistant Field Director at Evoke Wilderness Therapy

As an Assistant Field Director, Nick supports field guides with lending a non-judgmental, therapeutically intentional approach to how guides face the challenges of the Utah desert. Nick previously worked as a senior field guide for Evoke and seeks to implement his knowledge in his mentorship of guides and participants alike. Nick strives to provide a bountiful space for guide development with feedback, vulnerability, and honesty. Nick brings a calm, collected, and stalwart air to the role.

Growing up in Colorado helped Nick appreciate the outdoors at a young age with hiking, geocaching, and running. During high school and college, Nick struggled with his mental health and his sense of meaning. Working in wilderness therapy helped mend and transform the parts of himself that he felt like he didn’t understand. Nick graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has worked at various outdoor education programs and summer camps.

During his free time, Nick values balancing his exposure in the outdoors with meaningful time inside playing boardgames, video-games, philosophical debates, and drawing. In the future, Nick has goals of earning a graduate degree in psychology, traveling, running an ultramarathon, and creating his own board game.
