Christian Snuffer, MS, LCMHC
Lead Therapist at Evoke Therapy Intensives
Christian's first foray into behavioral health treatment was through the wilderness. He quickly realized he enjoyed the "therapy" part of wilderness therapy as much as actually being outdoors. He decided to pursue this line of work as a career and continues to use the power of adventure and experiential education as a catalyst for change within himself and those he serves.
Education & Prior Work Experience
Christian is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in Utah. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Utah and a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Prescott College. He has a variety of experiences in different behavioral health settings, including wilderness therapy, substance abuse, adolescent residential treatment, and community advocacy and harm reduction.
Strengths
As a counselor and coach, Christian uses an integrative approach focused on five domains of holistic health - physical, emotional, mental, social & spiritual. Optimal well-being is more than learning to cope with concerns like anxiety and depression - it is a process that integrates the whole person leading to greater connection and acceptance both internally and externally.
Interests
Christian is passionate about the interplay between nutrition, physical movement, and mental health. He believes that true healing is a holistic endeavor that understands the biology of the human being as well as the emotional experience. Additionally, he is involved with other alternative therapies, including psychedelic-assisted therapy and different somatically oriented approaches.
