Sue has extensive background working with individuals and families in crisis and those struggling with the pressures of everyday life. Sue is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families to engage in a process of self-discovery, to attend to the patterns and cycles that repeatedly show up in their lives, and find hope and healing along the journey. With over two decades of experience, Sue believes that we all have within us our own answers and truth. As an Intensives Therapist and Coach, she is committed to helping clients to explore their inner wisdom and discover their unique voice and path of healing.
Education and Prior Work
Sue is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has over 25 years working with individuals and families throughout the lifespan, providing individual and group therapy, parent coaching, working with victims of abuse and neglect and treatment for substance abuse and addictions. Sue has worked in non-profit, community, residential and outpatient settings in various roles such as clinician, program development and administration. She has served on several State and non-profit boards within her community.
Strengths
Recognizing that each individual is unique and will respond to different therapeutic approaches, Sue utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities. She enjoys creative and expressive therapeutic approaches such as art, psychodrama, mindfulness-based skill building, and narrative therapy. She is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Ego States and Internal Family Systems. She is also a certified provider of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and has an extensive background working with trauma and attachment issues. Areas of specialty include relationship development with self and others, mindfulness, emotional regulation, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, childhood abuse, sexual trauma, parenting, adoption and attachment issues.
Interests
Sue enjoys all that Utah has to offer and is often found outdoors hiking through the mountains or the desert. It is just as likely for her to be found at a play, museum or at a community cultural event. Sue’s hobbies include bird watching and making stained glass art.
