Education & Prior Work Experience
Noel is a highly skilled and empathetic Clinical Mental Health Counselor with more than 13 years of experience. His background includes working with adolescents and families in wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment settings, and private practice. Noel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. He has completed specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, 7 Challenges, Positive Psychology, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
Strengths
Noel brings a curious, non-judgmental approach towards the therapeutic process. He utilizes Mindfulness and Attachment Theory as a foundation for his work, and is drawn towards supporting individuals in their own journey towards wholeness, relationship repair, and personal insight. Noel has a grounded and introspective presence to the group process, which naturally creates a feeling of safety and understanding in the therapeutic relationship.
Interests
Noel was raised at the foot of the Wasatch mountains, and enjoys staying active and getting outside. You’ll find him playing tennis, cycling, hiking, paddle boarding, and snowshoeing. He also loves to tackle yard projects to (hopefully) make areas more beautiful and water-wise. Noel and his wife love traveling, training, and playing with their young Miniature Schnauzer, Pancho.
